As promised, we were back in Ximending for more shopping,
picking up stuff we left out, stuff we saw but did not want to get it too early
in the trip and stuff for people back home.
The famous Ah Zhong Mian Xian which was so popular people
just pull up chairs and eat on the streets. With no table :o
And then there is the more artsy Somebody’s café recommended
by friends who had been here.
I obviously wasn't listening when YQ planned out our routes.
Collaborating with local designers, Somebody's Cafe combined dining and
crafts that sets a nice ambience for a break from the crowd below.
Marshmallows in hot chocolate! Mmmmm…
Interrupted by work. Jeez.
And then there is the Xie Xie Squid Ball Vermicelli.
Sticky
and Gooey, just the way I like it.
Trying out local coffee, which according to YQ was super
bitter.
The movie street.
Twilight and The Adventures of Tin Tin.
Coming Soon.
Even GaGa was here.
At Za Zhi Feng (Magazine Craze) where YQ ponders on which One Piece Colouring Book to Get.
Some interesting shop fronts.
And the Design T-Shirt Store Graniph, Taiwan. Bought a few tees.
A lovely temple we found sandwiched between buildings.
A car sandwiched between shops.
A sandwich we had yesterday morning (technically that was
toast) but I digress.
Dinner.
A flea market sprung up near the landmark Xi Men Hong Lou
(The Red House). This was where Crowd Lu performed in his Crowd mobile if I’m
not mistaken.
And as night fell, the crowds began to gather again, under
billboards and lights.
